Introduction

Economics Today magazine is a business magazine in English, currently published twice a month. It aims at providing important, accurate, and balanced information related to development issues. Economics Today covers important issues such as economics & business, politics & society, international news, culture & tourism, lifestyle, economic & financial indicators. Its Cambodian edition, published once a month, also focuses on economy, politics, society and international news. Like its English counterpart, Economics Today in Cambodian provides the latest statistics information.

Vision Statement

ETM envisions Cambodians able to make informed decisions, and thus, free to lead their own lives. ETM believes that information is key to personal effectiveness and great achievements, especially in an environment of rapid development and opening to the world.

Mission Statement

ETM's mission is to promote and support Cambodians in their efforts to succeed and improve their lives.

As a post-conflict country, Cambodia had to rebuild its society, political system and economy from scratch. In 2004, Cambodian economy enjoyed a record growth rate of 13% in 2004 and maintained a steady performance till now.

Information was and still is the key to undertake and sustain this progress. Understanding the cause-effect relationship of all kinds of phenomena, grasping the roots of failures, and learning best practices from successful stories contribute to make the best decisions for the best results.

However, although we witness extraordinary growth and observe wealthy lifestyle in the cities, the number of people living with less than half a dollar a day in Cambodia is still too high. Precariousness of employment is alarming, and social inequality is growing.

The private sector, through its development and expansion, can contribute to society’s harmony.

To do so, private entrepreneurs, investors, and individual actors in the free market economy critically needs reliable information to prepare and undertake their projects. Greater access to quality information will contribute to future development, as our fellow citizens are better informed in this age of economic liberalization, regional economic integration and global competition.

ETM's goal is to provide not only the most reliable and useful information but pertinent analysis about Cambodia’s economics, business, and society today for ensuring successes of tomorrow.
